About This Trip

A woman paddles a stand up paddleboard behind a raft on a scenic stretch of the Main Salmon River surrounded by forest and mountainous terrain
Rafting on the Wild & Scenic Main Salmon River

Start each day with a peaceful morning of meditation and mindfulness instruction, followed by a full day of rafting, scenic hikes, and hearty meals in the heart of Idaho’s Frank Church Wilderness. Suitable for both new and experienced practitioners, this unique retreat invites you to unplug, recharge, and reconnect with nature, yourself, and others.

Each evening, after dinner, Heidi will lead a guided mindfulness practice by the river. From that moment until after the following morning’s session and breakfast, the group will observe a period of quiet reflection and silence, offering a rare opportunity to settle fully into presence. Conversation resumes naturally after breakfast as the day’s adventure begins.

Three women on their knees lined up on sleeping pad strapped to a raft all leaning the same way as they smile and strike a yoga pose.

Over the course of 81 miles on the Wild & Scenic Main Salmon River, you’ll navigate fun, approachable Class III whitewater, soak in a natural hot spring, visit Buckskin Bill’s historic homestead, and camp on pristine sandy beaches. With a mix of oar boats, dories, paddle rafts, and inflatable kayaks, there’s a new way to experience the river each day. Evenings at camp bring connection and calm. With Heidi’s thoughtful guidance, you’ll deepen your mindfulness practice while sharing a meaningful wilderness experience with like-minded travelers in one of the most remote and beautiful places in the country.

In support of our contemplative practice and our time together, this trip will be free from alcohol and drugs and includes extended periods of silence from the end of the evening through breakfast the next day. It’s a precious opportunity to connect with ourselves, each other, and the natural world.
